Scott Fountain serves as assistant coach for Auburn's tight ends and as special teams coordinator under Coach Gus Malzahn.

Previous Experience: Was responsible for all aspects of recruiting and assists with day-to-day football operations, with emphasis on administrative assistance to Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. Helped Auburn sign three Top 10 recruiting classes, including the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation in 2011 according to Scout.com. Served as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for Gene Chizik at Iowa State from 2007-08. Was retained by Paul Rhoads at Iowa State for two months to coach tight ends/offensive tackles prior to joining Auburn staff. Served as the offensive line/assistant head coach at Georgia Southern (2006) and offensive line coach at Middle Tennessee State (2004-05). Coached for seven seasons at Central Florida, starting as the offensive guards and centers coach and co-recruiting coordinator in 1997, before taking over as the offensive tackles/tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator from 1998-2003. Started his college coaching career as an offensive graduate assistant at Florida State from 1994-96. Served as an assistant coach at Flomaton High School in 1988 and at his high school alma mater, W.S. Neal, in 1989 before being named head coach at Frisco City High School in 1990. After a three-year stint at Frisco City, he was head coach at Monroe County for a year.

Personal: Birthday is Feb. 28. A native of East Brewton, Ala. Married to the former Rosie Hidalgo. Has four sons: Brookes, Hunter, Tanner and Skyler. Earned his bachelor's degree in physical education (K-12) from Samford University in 1988. Received his master's degree in educational leadership from Florida State in 1998.
